The Crow and the Mockingbird

“Timolokinash” - When the Animals speak.

Did you know that the Crow and Mockingbird were siblings at one time? And, unbelievably, they got along just fine and didn’t fight and hassle each other as they do now? In fact, they hardly ever, fought. True fact…Until they hit puberty and their hormones kicked in. What a time! Remember Boyz? Remember the warm fuzzies the cute girl down the street gave you? Or the girlie next door sneaking glances at you in class? Get the picture? This girlie was all that and a bag of acorns. You bet! A bag of acorns! She had cascading blue velvet hair and intriguing, inviting aqua colored eyes, which drive all of us Crazy Birds, well, Crazy Birds.

One look, from those mesmerizing peepers and she hypnotized them into her charming, coquettish ways. She had them vying for her attention like two, love struck teenagers. They were shadowing her every move. They followed her so much it reminds you of the Vulture peoples circling a carcass left by Mountain Lion. She had them acting very silly! Then something peculiar happened, boys will be boys and Crow got brave, broke the ice, and kidnapped Bluebird from her perch to stash her away in a cave where Mockingbird could not find her. Sort of like in the old days when women were a shortage and/or if a buck found a female in another Clan he devised a plan and took her away. I guess taking what one wants was the way to go back then. Makes one ponder where the cave men stories come from?

Any who, another peculiar moment arose and Mockingbird found out where she was hidden and took her from the Crow while he was down at the oak savannah chomping on them fat sweet, delicious acorns. Those acorns will get you every time! Well Mockingbird had the advantage, didn’t he? He knew the ways of his now ex-sibling and new nemesis, arch rival. So, when it came time to figure out Crow and where he would hide her? Who better else than Mockingbird to find that adorable, charming Bluebird. So he waited a few days for Crow to settle so he could figure out how to confuse and outwit his new opponent He knew, that Crow travels East, towards the rising Sun in the morning, and flies West in the evening and can be spotted at the same time at his various pit stops during the day. That was Crow’s power but also his downfall, he was so predictable you can pretty much know the time of day just by his whereabouts. So, the plan Mockingbird devised consisted of timing; timing is everything, and you can pretty much set your watch by Crow. While away on one of his jaunts, Mocking bird flew in and snatched that breathtaking Bluebird, right out of the Crow’s nest! Let a playa’ play!

You might wonder if Crow was that careless. No, he was a creature of habit, whom always flies Eastward in the morning and Westward in the evening. That’s the reason why the Mockingbird is the first one up singing and mimicking with his beautiful voice away from his hidden beautiful stash and Crow is right behind him trying to find the love that he lost.

What these funny girlies put a boy through! Heh?
